Langtang trekking region is another popular trekking destination after Everest and Annapurna trekking region in Nepal. Langtang trekking given a name with combine of its wide valley known as Langtang valley as well as popular mountain of Mount Langtang Lirung, which lies in Central-northen part of Nepal. Langtang region being popular with it’s beautiful valley, known as “the valley of glaciers”. The Langtang valley is surrounded High peaks of great appeal surround the Langtang valley. It has become famous ever since the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as ”the most beautiful valley in the world”. Trekking in Langtang region offer excellent Himalayan scenery, wonderful landscape, different colors of rododandron flowers, different type of mammals such as Red Panda, musk dears, leopards, jackals, mountain Thar, birds such as Pheasant, relaxing with mixed culture such as Bramin, Chhetri, Tamang etc.
The Langtang region trekking offers a huge number of trekking destinations, all easy accessible without flights. Langtang trekking, Langtang Gosainkunda trekking, Langtang valley trekking, Langtang and Helambu trekking, Helambu valley trekking, Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trekking, Gosainkunda & Helambu trekking, Gosainkunda lake trekking, Gosaikunda festival trekking, Jugal Himal trekking, Ganja –la pass trekking, Langtang panorama trekking are the main trekking destinations in Langtang region. The best time for doing trekking to Langtang region area is spring and autumn. Most of the trekking trails in Helambu and Langtang are well served with tea houses making independent trekking quite possible. However, there are no such facilities in the Ganesh Himal area or Ganja La area. A journey to the Langtang valley offers an opportunity to explore the Tamang villages, climb small peaks and to visit glaciers at a more comfortable altitude than other trekking regions in Nepal Himalaya. The upper valley in Langtang trekking region is a grazing paradise, rich in flowers and grass and dotted with stone huts used in the summer time butter making. Gosainkunda, high up within an open ridge, offers shorter treks than Langtang trekking.
Helambu is particularly easy and quick starting point for Langting region trekking Nepal. Sundarijal, which is one of the most suitable starting points, is an hour’s drive from Kathmandu. Other possible road heads are at Budhanilkantha, Kakani and four-hour drive away at melamchi Pul is also another starting point for Langtang region trekking. For Langtang and Ganesh Himal the Choice is limited drive to Dhunche in Rasuwa district. The road then continues to Syabrubesi from where Ganesh Himal and Langtang trekking can start.
